Meridian Hospital combines advanced medical technology, experienced physicians, multidisciplinary care and patient-centered service in a single campus in Manhattan.
We are a private multi-specialty hospital of 440 beds. Roughly six thousand people work here — physicians, nurses, therapists, technologists, cleaners, cooks, porters — and each of them is part of a patient's experience of this place.
Our clinical model is deliberately unfashionable in one respect: we resist fragmenting care across sites. Cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, imaging and rehabilitation sit on one campus and share one record. It costs more to run. It means a patient with three conditions sees three specialists who have already spoken to each other.

Our History
Twenty-five years, one campus
Meridian has grown by adding capability rather than locations. Each expansion answered a specific gap in what patients in this city could reach quickly.
- 2001 — Meridian opens with 90 bedsThe hospital admits its first patients with four specialties and a single operating theatre.
- 2008 — Cardiac Institute establishedA dedicated catheterization laboratory brings 24-hour intervention for heart attack to the region.
- 2014 — Neurosciences Pavilion opensMeridian becomes a comprehensive stroke centre with imaging placed alongside the treatment bays.
- 2019 — Cancer Center and tumour boardMultidisciplinary review becomes mandatory for every new cancer diagnosis.
- 2023 — Robotic surgery programmeThree robotic systems are commissioned; minimally invasive technique becomes the default.
- 2026 — 440 beds, 40 specialtiesMeridian now cares for more than 240,000 patients a year across nine buildings on one campus.

Independently reviewed
Meridian Hospital holds accreditation from the Joint Commission, verification as a Level II Trauma Center from the American College of Surgeons, and certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and our imaging services by the American College of Radiology.
