Designed For Recovery
The building is part of the treatment
Evidence on hospital design is unusually consistent: daylight, quiet and privacy shorten recovery. We built for that.
Every inpatient room at Meridian is single-occupancy with an exterior window, a family sleeping area and bedside controls for light, blinds and temperature. Corridors are laid out so that clinical traffic and visitor traffic rarely cross, which keeps noise down at night.
Wayfinding is colour-coded by wing and repeated at every junction, because the most common complaint in large hospitals is not clinical — it is not knowing where you are.
Visiting someone at Meridian?
Visiting hours, parking, food and the rules for children on the wards are all set out in our patient information pages.
